Terms of service

Kool Music Mixer is made by Sixpence Partners, LLC. Dated 9 October 2026.

This is a draft. It has not yet had a lawyer's review and is not the final wording. It is here so you can see how Kool Music Mixer is meant to be used while it is being built.

What Kool Music Mixer is, right now

A desktop app for playing and mixing your own music library, and this website. Both are still being built. The app is not out yet, features will change before it is, and nothing here should be read as a promise of what the finished product will do or when.

Your account

You sign in with your Google account; there is no Kool Music Mixer password. Give your real name, address and phone number when you register, and keep them current. An account is for one person: you are responsible for what is done with yours. You must be old enough to enter into an agreement where you live.

Your music is yours

The app plays the files you already have. It does not come with music, and we do not upload, store or stream yours. You are responsible for having the right to the music you play and rip: rip CDs you own, and play files you are entitled to play.

What it is for

Kool Music Mixer is for your own listening and mixing. Using it does not give you a licence to play music in public or in a business; where the law asks for such a licence, getting it is up to you.

What you may not do

• Use the app or the site to break the law or someone else's rights.
• Try to get round copy protection, or capture music from a streaming service.
• Share your account, or resell or hand on downloads meant for it.
• Interfere with the site, or try to reach accounts or data that are not yours.

Downloads and subscriptions

Downloads are for registered accounts. When a paid subscription is offered, its price and what it includes will be shown before you pay, payment will be taken by Stripe, and you will be able to cancel so that it ends with the period you have paid for. None of that is open yet.

Other people's services

The app can look up album covers and CD titles from MusicBrainz, the Cover Art Archive and gnudb. Those are run by others, may be wrong or unavailable, and are not ours to promise. Names such as Pioneer DJ and DDJ-FLX4 are their owners' trademarks; Kool Music Mixer is not made or endorsed by them.

Your privacy

What we keep about you, and what we do not, is on the privacy page.

No warranty

Kool Music Mixer is provided as it is, while it is being built. We do not promise that it will be available, free of faults, or the same from one day to the next. Keep your own copies of your music: the app does not change your files, but no software should be the only thing between you and your collection. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using it.

Ending it

You can stop using Kool Music Mixer at any time and ask us to close your account by writing to privacy@koolmusicmixer.com. We may close an account that breaks these terms.

Changes

These terms will change as the product does, and their date will change with them. A change that matters will be put to you again.
