Kool Music Mixer is made by Sixpence Partners, LLC. Dated 9 October 2026.
This is a draft. It has not yet had a lawyer's review and is not the final wording. It is here so you can see what Kool Music Mixer and this website actually do today.
The short of it
Your music never leaves your computer. No audio is uploaded, stored or streamed by us. We do not sell or share what we know about you, we run no advertising, and this website uses no analytics and no tracking.
What this website keeps today
One thing, and only if you give it: if you ask to be notified at launch, we keep your email address and the moment you left it. It is used to tell you the day Kool Music Mixer is out and for nothing else. No name, no IP address and nothing about your browser is kept with it.
The site sets no cookies. Its fonts and pictures come from the site itself, not from anyone else's servers.
When accounts open
Registering is not open yet. When it is, an account will hold:
- How you sign in. You sign in with Google, which tells us your email address and its own ID for your account. We never see your Google password, and there is no Kool Music Mixer password. If you add Windows Hello or another passkey, we keep its public key; the private half stays on your device. The sign-in page fetches Google's button from Google, which so learns that your browser opened that page.
- Who you are. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address, as you type them in.
- Where you are signed in. One cookie keeps you signed in. It is needed for the site to know you and is not used for tracking or advertising.
- Your subscription, if you take one: what it is and whether it is paid up. Payment is taken by Stripe. Your card number goes to Stripe and never to us.
- What you downloaded, and when.
What the app does on your computer
The app keeps your library on your own computer: the list of your tracks, what it has measured of them, your cue points and your settings. Your music files are read and never changed.
It goes online for two things, and you can use it without either:
- Album covers. To find a cover it sends the artist's name and the album's title to MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive. Nothing else is sent.
- CD titles. When you rip a CD it sends the disc's layout (how many tracks, where each starts) to MusicBrainz, and to gnudb if MusicBrainz does not know the disc.
Those services see the request and the internet address it came from, as any website does. They are told the name of the app, and nothing about you.
A backup of your library to your account is planned. It will hold the library's list and your own markings. It will not hold audio or album covers.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of companies to run the site, and give them only what the job needs:
- Cloudflare serves this website and keeps the launch list.
- Google will confirm who you are when you sign in.
- Neon will hold the accounts' database.
- Stripe will take payments.
These companies are based in the United States. If you are elsewhere, what you give us is sent to and kept in the United States.
Your say over it
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, the launch list included. Write to privacy@koolmusicmixer.com.
Children
Kool Music Mixer is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep anything about them.
Changes
This page will change as the product does, and its date will change with it. When accounts are open, a change that matters will be put to you again.
